    in Grower Discussion

Can someone tell me what variety tomato the 5.58 Timm 2008 was?

I think it's a big zak, but don't quote me on it. I have one in the garden, but it's only the size of a big orange. Hoping it will be ready for Port Elgin.

Do you have a good one John? If so, good luck.

I weighed one off the 5.58 Timm 2008 and entered it in the Terra Greenhouse Competition down here. It weighed 4.49, likely my best this year as the plants are going downhill fast. The colour is a real orange-red and I noticed the Big Zacs are usually more pink-red in colour.

Put a posting on the tomato forum. They should be able to help. You could contact Brant Timm & he would be able to tell you.

Congrats on your 4.49. Good luck at the weigh off.

The 5.58 Timm is a Big Zac. It was grown from the 3.9 Catapano which was grown from the 4.59 Lyons 06 which was an original Big Zac.
