220 Baggs marrow. All was going well until we hit a heat wave which is supposed to last 10 days. Covered plant with 32% shadow cloth. No pollination yet. Going to be around 35 Celsius on the day I have to pollinate so will have to cool the marrow with ice packs.
205 Wursten field pumpkin x 133 Wursten. Pollination 2 days ago. Covered this plant as well. Last year all my plants got roasted during a heat wave, so don't want that happening again.
176 Wursten field pumpkin. Two pollinated, both with the 205. Most of the plant has been terminated. The two tomatoes are in tubs. They were meant for the GVGO contest, but while both plants are doing great, the tomatoes won't grow. Poor pollination?
133 Wursten field pumpkin. Same seed in the same polytunnel that grew the 205 last year. Same type of summer as well. Pollinated with the 176.
Just pollinated one of the inside tomatoes. This is the 5.75 Hunt 19 (Mega Zak).
This is the other GVGO contest tomato, also inside. This one was pollinated on pretty much the same day as the Hunt and is the 5.95 Konieczny 16 (Domingo).
Many, many other kinds of giant veg growing, but nothing worth mentioning as we had a cool and extremely dry spring and early summer.
This is a MacKenzie FP. Grown solely for decoration on a piece of black plastic with just a hole for the roots. Several pumpkins on the plant, no water added but still 50-60 lbs (?).
