i usually dont like doing diaries because im superstitious and think they jinks me. but it has been a long time since i even had a pumpkin that pollinated. I cant even remember the last time i actually had one. So what the heck. I keep trying every year. so this year i thought i would go back to the way we use to grow them. i dug out an organic pit (like we did many moons ago) and also put in some heating cables i picked up from amazon.
seeing as i always had a pollination problem, i decided not to give my plants any fertilizer other than what went into the pit and surrounding area in April. Had my soil test done in April as well but cant really figure them out too much.
i started 2 weeks earlier than i have ever did before because of the heating cables now in place.
so anyways i was lucky enough to pollinate in late June and it seams that both my plants finally have a set fruit . was about to give up on them as they looked like they were going to abort. surprisingly they started to grow.
now i think i can start to fertilize these two plants.
