    Bushel gourds

    in Grower Discussion

I started my bushel gourd seeds today this is my first time growing them i filed and soaked them the same as my AGs , i was wondering how long they usually take to break ground and if they will germinate at about the same temp, I germinate my AGs at about 78 degrees because I find it better to keep starting medium a little moist

I have the best luck germinating them at 90F soil temp and not too wet. I file the edges and soak for 12 hours in warm water (on a heat mat) then plant in ProMix. They are usually up in 7-10 days but can take longer. After 14 days they are usually rotted if they haven't germinated yet.
