    heavy peppers

    in Grower Discussion

when is the best time to weigh peppers? Are you guys measuring and weighing them when they quit growing or do you cut them when they flash a different color like tomatoes.

Hey Mike, from my limited experience I am sort of sure that they are at there heaviest after they turn red. There is some risk involved in leaving a pepper on the plant for an extended period of time until they change over. I have no way of knowing what the difference might be but I found that the red ones did weigh more according to measurements I took and they did seem to be a little thicker. That's all I can say about that. Best of luck.
