Congrats to all the growers at Port Elgin today. Huge results especially the pumpkins, tomatoes and beets. Two real close to the Canadian records for beets and another one for pumpkins!
Way to go Port Elgin Crew. I'm suire all the growers in attendance and those of us on line appreciated the volunterism and organization. A great showing by all in attendance. Congrats to all and a special shout out to Chris Lyons/Jane&Phil Hunt and Todd Kline.
It was a fun day and I enjoyed seeing many of the GVGO growers again although it was from a distance. Thanks to the crew who did a great job in Port Elgin under difficult circumstances. We loved watching all of the entries and the excellent online show. I think we have planted the growing seed in Ben this year as he is talking about going full boar next season.....time to buy a tiller...lol.
Congrats to all the winners! Ben was in line to weigh his pumpkin after Bob & Elaine MacKenzie so I managed to snap a nice photo of their new PB.....attached.
Good luck all growers who have not yet weighed in, we hope to see the one ton barrier get broken soon.
Yeah, huge congrats to Chris Lyons, John Metesa, and Bob and Elaine Mackenzie for huge personal bests! Also congrats on all the giant tomatoes, and other things that grew to personal bests. I also noticed it was a great year for squash, and there were many entries over 1000.
Just wanted to let everyone know that Port Elgin has a recording on their website of the entire weigh-off in case you missed the live stream.
