    Pumpkin trophy

    in Grower Discussion

Does anyone know where you can buy a giant pumpkin trophy? We would like to get one that is awarded to the winner of our weigh off every year. The kind you get your name and date inscribed and the winner takes it home for the year until someone beats them.

Go to your local place that sells trophies. Ask them if they know a wood carver in the area that can carve a small pumpkin to replace the ornament on the top &/or on the sides of the trophy. You could also just try getting a local carver to carve a nice wooden pumpkin (about 12" in diameter) that can be set it up on a base that would be big enough to hold all the winner's names from the past & present.

You could also replace the ornament on top of any trophy with a blown glass pumpkin such as this https://kitras.ca/collections/tabletop/products/round-pumpkin We use a large one of these on its own with an engraved emblem as the first place trophy at my local weigh off but you could easily add one to the top of a perennial trophy if you are looking for something different.

I like that. I think it is nicer than the traditional gold or silver trophy tops

The glass ones are very nice. We have one of the large round ones from Erin Fair. It's our favorite pumpkin trophy. You just need to be a bit more careful with them, as they are very fragile.

Do you have a picture of the trophy? Trying to get some ideas.

I made a glass one similar to the picture above this summer. Did it at a glass blowing shop in Ottawa. Pretty fun experience. It started with raw glass and lots of heat. Ended with a really cool pumpkin. Glass ones would make a great trophy.

I bought a pumpkin made of wood from Coupon codify last week, I also show you a pic of my pumpkin, there are varieties of pumpkins are also available in different sizes, prices are also quite low, if you wanna buy a glass pumpkin it's also available on there.
