    Weighing tomatoes

    in Grower Discussion

I know it's tough for a new grower and even worse for an accomplished grower to weigh a tomato

that isn't that big but this competition will probably decided by 1/2 lb. Last year there was a lot of people that didn't weigh a tomato and most of them were accomplished growers that hadn't grown tomatoes before. I know of 2 growers that had 2+ lb tomatoes and didn't weigh them because they thought they'd get bigger and didn't weigh anything.

Bottom line is weigh everything. If I don't win but we weighed 6 tomatoes...hey we did our best. If we only weighed 4 tomatoes that sucks. I'm sure the top growers on here will agree and hopefully respond.

Yeah, last year I had three plants and only got one tomato to the scale, so weighing an eatter was a lifesaver.
