I pollinated this 1608 Bryson on the 29th, 11 ft out with 18 secondaries.
However there is a damage spot from wind blowing a stick against it.
I then pollinated this flower 2 ft farther with 21 secondaries on July 3rd.
Will the damage on the first one cause problems? I want to position the fruit soon so I need to know which to keep.
Thanks!
Thanks, I'm trying!
Nice looking pumpkin Noah. Keep it going
That is a nice looking pumpkin. The skin looks very smooth and should have lots of growth in it yet. I hope you keep us posted on it's progress.
Good Luck with it!
Noah...I was wondering how your pumpkin is growing? Do you have any pictures?
This is the most recent picture ( taken minutes ago) it is scarring nicely.
Thanks for the input, I'll definitely position for the second.
P.S. I did know about my cucumber beetle problem.
If it were me I would keep both pumpkins for now. I would position the vine on the latest pollination (July 3rd) with the intent that it would be the keeper. With the two pumpkins being so close in age I would keep the unblemished one and it will have more plant behind it. You are probably aware of this but I see a cucumber beetle near the stem of the last pumpkin. They can cause a lot of problems if they get out of control. Good luck!
